I concur, it truly makes sense that these two possibilities are very high, I wouldn’t put it past the education system to flunk Fluttershy a couple of times for something that is dire for a Pegasus to learn; flight!

Dash probably was a runt, her personality certainly bears that out, but Fluttershy is also fluttershite at flying, so it makes sense she’d get held back for remedial lessons.

I put Dash as the youngest. She’s a filly flying prodigy and somehow less mature than Pinkie Pie. That said, we just put more effort into deciding their relative ages in this thread than the writers did.

True. Fluttershys size and Applejack saying she got her mark last in her class makes me think there the eldest with Rarity possibly just a tiny bit younger. The rest of the girls are younger by a year or two. I’d put Twilight as the youngest honestly.

I believe in these 3 headcanons depending on the story or scenario. Do you agree? Rarity is always put the oldest, RD is always put the youngest, but Fluttershy is always above Pinkie Pie.

When my dam and I are together in public, people either guess that in her son and she got pregnant while she was a filly or they assume she’s a cougar and I’m her new colt toy.

Fluttershy said she was 1 year older than Pinkie Pie. She also had the young teen body style when she got her CM.
 
Applejack said getting a CM late in the family, i.e. last in class, ran in the family.
 
But people age differently too. Two of my roommates look 20 years younger than their actual age. My mother is 50 but people mistake her for being my date or my sister.

That episode about simultaneous CMs really limits the options of age spread on the M6 unless you accept that the older ones got their mark unusually late.

Rarity is probably the eldest with Applejack just a bit younger. Maybe Fluttershy is the same age going by her larger size when they got there cutiemarks.

It’s not, though; the outside/top color is Moderate Indigo, while the inside/underside color gradates from Moderate Mulberry to Dark Mulberry.

Her mane is purple on one side and violet on the other; I think she’s been dyeing it since she was a kid.

In fact, I’m confident in the headcanon and that most will agree with me that Rarity is the oldest member of the mane 6, so it’s not that far-fetched to believe that age and stress played their parts here. Again, Rarity getting older just makes her look more beautiful. She’s like a pony version of a hot milf, but all the pony moms are already milfs

Her mannerisms and personality make it seems like throughout the show she was possibly already in her early to mid-30s while the rest are mid to late 20s. I rather not say my headcanon on ages here since it’s a bit irrelevant though.
 
I think she has been using dye products probably a couple of years after the show ends. I would see that the opportunity to do so would happen during Rarity and Fluttershy hangouts at the spa.

How long do you think she used mane & tail dye before letting the gray out?

I’m okay with her being old. Though I believe those grey hairs are due to stress. Despite being a mare who pampers herself and has the best hygiene, it’s not surprising that she’d be under heavy stress. Anybody at any age can get grey hairs if put under enough of it.
 
That aside…I like her mane, I like older Rarity, very elegant, shes fine wine.
