we don’t know exactly what the pregnancy was like, but delta actually managed to live with jet for six years before divorcing him. if that’s when she went down the tubes, then she must have been able to cope with her unexpected pregnancy somehow for the six years before.
 
then again, considering apogee’s energy, I can’t help but wonder what delta was tripping on while she was making apogee. maybe delta was a really terrible mother for those six years too, and jet’s confession was just the straw that broke the camel’s back.
 
there’s also the possibility that delta might have spiraled downwards without getting pregnant at all, because the real problem is she isn’t as good as she thinks she is.

Yeah. She pretty much let the unexpected pregnancy ruin her completely. That’s what annoys me about her; she doesn’t seem to be trying to make things better for herself, and instead wallows in pity.

well uh, for someone who can cope with being an adult, delta doesn’t seem to have a moment of happiness she can remember since the day she graduated. and she used to be very optimistic.

well, her pettiness, her naive optimism, her inability to cope with being an adult, copious amounts of drugs, and a late start on her career due to getting unexpectedly pregnant, not to mention the extra physical and hormonal stresses having children puts on females.
 
honestly I think delta vee owning a junkyard is pretty respectable, considering all that. he thinks he’s offering a way out, when maybe her junkyard is the way out, if she can only come to love the person she has become.

You can hate someone and not be petty about them, and her pettiness towards Jet spills over to Apogee. Delta refuses to let it go, and it’s harming Apogee more than Jet.

While that is true, the difference would (or at least should) be who she’s aiming the pettiness at. Pettiness towards Jet? At least somewhat understandable due to what he did (though, with this said, she does need to get over it and move on at some point). But pettiness towards Apogee because of Jet is, in my opinion, unwarranted. Especially when Apogee just wants to make her mother happy. She’s a good kid and deserves that much, at least.

if I don’t miss my guess, delta would be more likely to deny that she hates it just because it’s jet’s recipe, then force herself to eat it, trying to keep apogee from knowing she’s upset.

And don’t try to act like I was an ass to you because you prefer Delta. I was an ass to you because you were writing off the harms of mental abuse because it involves less physical contact between the parties involved. If it was Jet doing that shit than I’d call him out as well.

Well, don’t worry. I won’t be contributing to such “controversy” in future, because this will be my last comment on any Derpibooru post. @Meanlucario (and others) have made it perfectly clear lately that I am to share their opinion(s), and if I don’t, then I’m a terrible person who needs to be put in his place. I’m not playing that game.
 
I’ll still be upvoting (and sometimes downvoting) submissions, but I will no longer participate in the comments section. I just can’t take the endemic intolerance for freedom of thought.

Mental abuse is just bad, if not worst, like playing with your daughter’s heartstrings by telling her that you are getting back with her father and not stopping until her literally crying over it. Jet’s a bastard, Delta is a bitch, but at least Jet doesn’t do that shit to his daughter.
