You’re probably right.
It was probably just a dumb glitch or something.
I swear up and down that certain tags “don’t go through”, like there’s a very minor random glitch where there’s a super slight chance that an entered tag won’t actually appear on the image :P
It’s ok. No biggie.
The odd thing is I swear I added that tag. I specifically remember looking through images of these two trying to find that specific shipping tag D:

Yeah, there should be a button that says “tags” right over the ratings tag. If it’s there, then you can edit the tags.

There are definitely plenty of valid reasons gold is so valuable and coveted :D
thus the trope of the rotting undersea chest filled with pristine quality gold bullions.
A big part of what made gold so valuable was how incredibly difficult it is to dissolve.
Well, Not Tarnishing could be linked to not dying.

I’m just assuming. Really, I think the reason gold is so valuable is not only is it gorgeous but it’s soft and easy to work with and never tarnishes :D
Ah, so more precious = more powerful. And considering that death is much stronger than disease….
huh, so since gold is so stable and nonreactive, it wouldn’t be of any use against the evil curses.

Silver actually does have a fairly valid reason for being believed to be holy. Back in the day people believed illness and infections were curses and evil powers, and silver is an antimicrobic that can prevent and treat infection: people realized silver meant “no evil curses”. Probably gold was equated to being holy because it’s a similarly precious metal :D

Yeah, like maybe it has holy properties or something of the sort.
Possibly. I actually have a theory, based solely off trying to come up with SOMETHING that gold literally sickens and hurts them, much like how it takes silver to harm a werewolf.
I guess the aurophobia is mainly to give them some sort of weakness, or to make it so that encountering one doesn’t mean you’re totally screwed.
And even more terrifying in the original folklore, where they are Unseelie faeries who claim the souls of the dead and splash blood onto witnesses (assuming they don’t slash out their eyes instead with a whip made from a human spine). Also, the heads resemble moldy cheese with wicked grins, making them much much less adorable than Clear Sky over here.
They also have an unexplained fear of gold for some reason.
