Double Diamond and Night Glider

Double Diamond and Night Glider continued to live in Our Town alongside Sugar Belle, Party Favor, and the rest of their neighbors. Now able to freely talk and discover who the ponies they’ve lived with for years really are, relationships began to blossom and grow in all kinds of ways. Including these two - although it wasn’t for awhile after Starlight’s reformation. Night Glider had initially expressed mutual feelings for Party Favor himself, and the two went on a few friendly dates. But it was then Party Favor was offered a job in Ponyville, and the party pony’s heart called him to it. Saddened, but understanding of following one’s dream, Night Glider bade him farewell.

Thus, Double Diamond, who’d himself harbored feelings for the tough, beautiful pegasus, and the mare herself grew closer. He hated to see his friend feeling down, and went out of his way to cheer her up. Offering personal skiing lessons, taking long hikes in the hills, and showing her his favorite scenic overlooks. Night Glider was quite touched. One autumn evening, after the very first snow, Double Diamond took Night Glider on what was supposed to be a perfect date - the highest plateau that overlooked the badlands, sitting under the light of the magnificent full moon. What he didn’t expect were the clouds that completely darkened all his plans. In an impressive feat of flight, Night Glider quickly clears the sky and leaves the stallion slack-jawed. After a haphazard, stuttering compliment on how awesome and gorgeous she is, Night Glider replies that he’s a dork, and the two steal a kiss. From there, they go on to marry and live in Ponyville with their daughter, Ophelia Moon.

Rockhoof and Mage Meadowbrook

This couples’ story isn’t one of too much complication. After Rockhoof finds his place as Equestria’s Keeper of Tales, his enthusiam that Meadowbrook had grown so accustomed to returned in full force. Not only did he regale tale after tale of his own heroics, but those of the Pillars and other important figures of Equestria long since passed. During one of her visits, Meadowbrook ends up overhearing Rockhoof retelling her very own story to a group of enamored creatures, big and small. The adoration and admiration that filled his voice, sparkled in his eyes, making his chest puff out as Rockhoof recalled her bravery and selflessness struck Meadowbrook. She invites him that evening to a home-cooked meal and some familiar conversation. Just the two of them. Rockhoof graciously accepts, and they share a rather nice night of delicious food, and catching up on their current going-ons. Meadowbrook continues to sell her tonics and loves helping the ponies around her (and keeping an eye on an up-and-coming herbalist). The healing mare then thanks Rockhoof, as his words she overheard earlier touched her heart. The stallion replies that he meant every word of it - and has since he met her. Many, many heart-meltingly sweet moments later, the two Pillars marry in a small, but intimate ceremony. While they don’t stay with us on this earth much longer, sadly, they leave us a strong-hearted son, River Rock.

Donut Joe and Moondancer

Another rather uncomplicated, but classic, love story. After reuniting with her group of friends and working to build her social confidence, Moondancer frequented the donut shop with her gal pals quite often. After all, they were the absolute best donuts in town (and Minuette usually ended up insisting anyway). It wasn’t long before the group noticed Moondancer was looking up from her books a little more often (hey, she didn’t have to change everything at once…) and towards the owner of said shop, simply named Donut Joe. Utterly delighted that their shy, but sweet friend was obviously harboring a crush (“sorry Moondancer, you are so obviously blushing…”), the girls encouraged her to approach the burly, simple-featured, but kindhearted and down-to-earth baker. While Moondancer was rather resistant at first, she started to frequent the donut shop more and more often - under the guise that it was his coffee/hot chocolate specialty that was keeping her awake during a very intense report to earn her teaching license. But, of course, the two got to know each other more and more, and Moondancer found out that Joe was quite a bit smarter than he seemed at first - and under that big barrel chest of his beat quite a kind, understanding heart. Although Moondancer, at first, was quite hesitant and clumsy in navigating this whole new relationship thing, Joe always had a loving, sarcastic remark to back her up and reassure her. Eventually, they marry right in front of the shop (and hold the receoption inside) and have a son, Kolaky Jake.

(also heavily inspired by this piece. watch she’s awesome)

Trenderhoof and Coco Pommel

The story of these two is actually quite sweet, and includes a third party: none other than farm lady Applejack. After Trenderhoof arrived in Ponyville (and went through that whole confusing song and dance with AJ and Rarity) he ever-so-slightly lowered his head from the clouds and took a few months of downtime in Ponyville to kind of have some time to think. Where was he exactly going with his career? What had it gotten him? A whole lot of contacts, but he could count his real friends on one hoof. Hating to see the hipster sap so sad, Applejack offered him some work on the farm. Farm work always helps her clear her head. Her initial hesitation in thinking Trend would start to flirt with her again was quashed when he instead lamented nearly every moment they were together about never finding love and destined to be a lonely hermit for the rest of his life. While he didn’t further pursue the farm mare, it seemed he made a hit on almost every mare in Ponyville. Most of its residents were hardworking individuals, a trait Trend was obviously very attracted to.

During a much-needed spa day with Rarity, Applejack reveals her annoyance with Trenderhoof and his complaints about love. It is then Rarity reveals she has received a letter from Coco Pommel all the way from Canterlot. She has landed an amazing job working in Canterlot’s premiere theater as one of their top costume designers, but she also mentions she feels rather lonely and wishes for some romance herself. The two pounce on the opportunity like pastel-colored tigers (besides, AJ couldn’t stand Trend’s whining any longer.) So she throws these two together on a blind date, and the rest is simply history. The moment they are introduced, Trenderhoof drops to his knees and recites the sappiest poem he could on the spot, and that pretty much sealed the deal. Trend finds Coco just utterly cute (while having a fantastic taste in fashion. Coco just melts at her boyfriend’s impromptu poems and sentiments. They live together in Canterlot, and have a wonderfully unique daughter, Boadicea.

Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail

Sky Stinger and Vapor Trail began to date shortly after the events of “Top Bolt.” It was seemingly inevitable, and the quite-obvious crushes the two harbored for one another. In all honesty, not much changed from their friendship with one another. They continued to fly together, practicing and helping the other build their individual strengths. Both ponies grew together, strengthening their confidence. A confidence Sky Stinger eventually mustered to attempt to propose to his beloved Vapor Trail. He attempted to write the message himself using the clouds around him - but overestimated himself in his overly-long message, and got about three-fourths through his message to the mare. She eventually joins him, stopping him, pulling him into a hug and pointing at the far shorter message she’d written over his own.

‘Yes.’

And that sealed the deal. These two still live in Cloudesdale together, Vapor Trail now a full-fledged Wonderbolt, and Sky Stinger still in the Reserves, but showing promising growth. The result of their relationship is the sweet, quiet pegasus Mistfeather.
