I had the headcanon of them being killed by Timberwolves.
This is actually the very Beast i was thinking of.
In EG they died in ship accident as far as some theories say
my theory is that they turned into trees like they introduced back in season 7
Beast of the everfree forest huh,
It would truly be ironic is this was the beast responsible. heck it would at least explain Applejack’s fear for Applebloom’s safety during that episode.
I think an accident is more likely, because 2 perfectly healthy and young adults falling ill at the same time, without their children or the much older granny smith being affected sounds unlikely, at least for me. I would imagine that they were delivering their apple pies to another village and fell prey to some carnivorous beast in the everfree forest for example, or fell in a ravine with nobody there to safe them.
I dont think we will ever find out though.
Hasbro Logic:
Openly murder Sombra twice, but never openly tell us what happened to Applejack’s parents.
