Hard to say, but knowing now that the comic is titled “A Battle to Save a Possessed Soul” then… yeah, gonna guess it means Flash is being manipulated somehow.

He sees them in corrupted form. Sunset unleashed her Daydream Shimmer side cause she wouldn’t have better chance to find clues who is killing her friends. She found out it was Flash overwhelmed by dark powers.
That’s my theory tho…
