actually I remember some people saying that the recent Doctor who episode about rosa parks was historically inaccurate because not everyone in that time period was racist. Now that may be true but it was still wait very racist time period

After all this time it’s like we never made progress. It’s like we’re stuck with the kinds who instead of saying, “you’re right we should be careful,” go, “that looks like fun let’s do it again.” It shouldn’t take a documentary to tell them it’s a bad idea let alone a recent incident.

Sad truth is, terrible things have to happen for people to learn. Those whom fail to learn from the past, are doomed to repeat it.
You’re forgetting that if it wasn’t for Hitler, people wouldn’t have realized that genocide and racial/cultural segregation were bad things (like here in the USA, forcibly destroying a woman’s reproduction organs due to her being black wasn’t seen as a bad thing until they learn that Hitler was doing it with other groups).
As long as its the kind of time travel where the time traveler is protected from changes in the timeline they did, then just keep changing it over and over again. Don’t fall for that cliche that certain events have to happen.
I remember in Doctor Who, the Doctor almost decided to finally just change all of history for the better but unfortunately he gave up when the women he saved decided to stubbornly kill herself.

But if the butterfly effect is very detailed, just bumping into somebody in the past might screw up future events.
Then kill Stalin too. If you are protected by time travel, then every time you return to the present if it’s worse then just research the origins of the new problem and then go back and stop that event. Eventually you will achieve peace instead of just giving up like so many time travelers in fiction.
Then Stalin with the Soviet Union takes over and we’re left with red alert.
Let’s mount up a T-rex, and go Hitler hunting!

I’d go back and post a really long fanfic with every reveal and retcon in the entire series (details on the parents, small things like Twilight competing in the trivia game in the past, etc).
Then sit back and watch how the fandom would react as it all comes true.
9 seasons, and over 200 episodes still is a nice amount.
