I’d like to think Kerfuffle’s a smart enough cookie to make the pivot out of corrosion-resistant bearing-rated materials, e.g. oil-impregnated bronze bushings, or maybe even sealed roller-ball or -taper bearings.
Maybe that front-facing gold part is just a cover plate for a spring mechanism…?
If the metal is gold plated as it looks, then no, as gold doesn’t rust. I’m sure it gets dirty though

tbh here my headcanon is she likes the desperation in this kind of situation, but there were a lot less customers before the festival and she couldn’t quite make it this timeI know, I just said she should have her own bathroom just for herself.
customers only doesnt apply to her xD that means you cant just come in off the street to use the restroom if youre not a patron of the shop, a very common thing in cities

And if she decided to mark it for customers, she should have other bathroom just for herself.
