I don’t mind this version. It’s an actual ponification of the original meme, with minimal changes as necessary or to accommodate in‐jokes: background is still black, text and arrow are still red, and the wording is identical spare the cat → horse substitution and gay → bi substitution — the former of which is a direct animal → animal substitution so it fits even better, the latter being necessary to refer to Hadley’s tweet.
If I didn’t know any better I’d say that this was a piss‐take on the original meme and Hadley’s idiocy by a shitposter because it’s done in the stereotypically tumblr SJW CalArts style, complete with ear gauge and double helix piercings. I don’t know whether it’s sadder or funnier that these choices were meant unironically.
@mjangelvortex
It has been said before that text is taken in the tone the reader creates, rather than the tone the writer intended. Which is why easily angered people take everything around them online as an attack. I could use emojis but… I just feel dirty every time.
@Skoon
That happens a lot online I’ve noticed. I’ve been on both ends of that sort of situation where I’ve either accidentally mistaken someone for being upset or people have mistaken me for being upset.
The lack of vocal and facial cues is a huge downside when talking through text sometimes.

I’ll go have a talk with the other staff members and see which tags suit this picture the best.

I’m not really here to debate, much as it may seem that I am. I don’t even disagree with you. I’m not trying to say that it’s right, just that it is, and as such, I really just don’t think those tags are called for.
@Krickis
I am a “sexual minority”. Particularly a gay-leaning bisexual, and life has given me a lot of hell about it.
I’ve nothing against the message, but I loathe its aggression. Part of what I dislike about tumblr in general. There’s no reason to be so inflammatory, shouting into a void of little to no opposition.
The kind of people who would take real offense at non heterosexual alignment don’t generally look fondly on nerd culture as it is. They ain’t listening, in other words. So things like this just create tension among people who would otherwise be entirely amicable with each other.
@PoemeMystique
This is a reference to Katrina Hadley stating Sunset is bisexual, so it’s not a headcanon. Headcanon hey otherwise if you want, but we have clear intent from the director of the movie, so it shouldn’t be tagged as headcanon.
This image was also created for Tumblr, a website where posts like these are viewed celebratorily. Even the language fits in with Tumblr’s site culture of taking a more aggressive stance on pride. Taking the fact that the artist created this for a different platform with different views, it’s fair to say that this isn’t intended as drama bait.
You could alteratively mean that the image uploadeder is trying to bait drama by sharing an image here, but I believe that was done more in the spirit of sharing as much pony art as possible on the Bootu, which aligns with with this site’s aim.
I don’t plan on arguing with you, but I do plan on reverting the tags and wanted to explain my reasons for doing so. I would appreciate a site admin to step in and answer which one of us is correct.

No. It’s not. Please move any further tag related discussion to the forums and not spam the same comment across multiple images.
It’s becoming a necessity.
No, that is not a tag. Please don’t make such an unnecessarily specific one for just 3 or so images.
Okay, that changes things!

Thanks.

No worries, I very much speak in friendly tones. People oft mistake me for angry when I’m just… talking. :P
