Description

MLP is… flawed. It has some episodes not well written, some characters unpolished, many animation errors if you look closely enough, It also has a controversial fandom. Despite all those facts. It still the show that I love and value the most.

There are lots of wonderful animations out there. Gravity falls, Rick and morty, infinity train, the loud house, and so on… I just love those shows so much… none of them is worse than MLP, some are far better in my opinion. But weirdly enough that MLP is the only one I really hold on to, the only one I really struggle to let go.

It feels …. I donno how to describe …. it’s almost like something is missing. Kind like you know something will comes to an end or someone will die eventually, and you may have prepared for that long time ago. But when it happens, you realize that regardless how well you think you prepared. It still hurts.

Things change. Like my favorite youtuber—exurb1a once said “there’ll never come a time when everything lasts forever, and nothing hurts ever again”

yes, MLP FIM is gone, you might feel bad and sad and all. But when you think of those ponies you know and love, think of all the joys and happiness, just remember to carry the good things they bring to you, it’s what they always wanted.

last of all. Let go of the sorrow, because we will all remember them, together.

Kingdoms rises and kingdoms fall. What is left is the impression it made. like the roads that lead to Rome they are still there, some maintained and some forgotten.

Technically Hasbro never went silent over G5 because they never officially said anything about G5 in the first place. The closest is a confirmation that pony will continue after season 9.

Now if you mean why we haven’t heard anything from the leaks. DHX is no longer working with Hasbro. Either Boulder Media or Hasbro itself would need to be hacked for more G5 content to get leaked.

I agree entirely. I was pointing out that one exists to keep the current generation going, but I do find it strange that with the uproar to keep 4 going that Hasbro went silent over G5… though I guess it could’ve been over all the death threats too? I’m not entirely sure if Hasbro received the same heat as the G4 show staff has.

Have people forgotten so suddenly that season 10 is going to be in comic form? I don’t know how many times I’ve pointed this out, but FiM isn’t exactly dead. The show may be off the air but IDW, under Hasbro’s direction, is pushing for a comic version of FiM. Plus with Hasbro going silent about gen 5 and a massive petition being pushed for the continuation of FiM, no one truly knows what Hasbro is doing with MLP right now.

for me this show is the best at something, at making me love these characters so much that years on i still love them and im crying about it when it comes to an end

and it does so in (mostly) elegant simplicity, it is after all a show for children, and these limitations do reduce the amount of complexity one can produce in the final product. to me its extremely impressive artistically.

You might have struggled to let go of MLP:FIM because of its extremely unique concept ; it’s a genuinely funny animated sitcom in a complex fantasy world with zero human or humanoid characters (EqG excluded). It’s a modernized fantasy world in how it’s approachable and accessible instead of being overly pretentious with its presentation like “classic” fantasy productions like Lord of the Rings.

This combined with the world mechanics, species mechanics, character-focused writing, and overall high production quality created an experience that can’t really be replicated.

Pony will return in G5, with a whole new production team behind it. Considering that MLP definitely had some writing issues in the back 2/3rds of its life, this production team has a fair shot at being better than the previous one, especially since Hasbro has realized that G4’s monstrous success came from the effort put into it, and will likely hire talented people for G5.

Or they could hire cracks that ruin everything.

But I’m optimistic.

We’ll see.
