This is extremely similar to the backlash Scitwishimmer and Flashlight fans had about Timbertwi. Shipping is a glass house and everybody is throwing stones. This fandom has proven time and again that it cannot handle its shipping.

If you want to talk about canonicity, the series end up with sci-twi in a relationship with timber and nothing but a deep friendship with sunset. While flashimmer is probably not canon end up being a “maybe is happening”  
These edits could be annoying, however those are people who are just frustrated because artists dont put attention to these ships, they are not asking for trouble, they just want more love for their ships… Not at a very good way… But ok… I can understand that, Im one of the very few artists drawing flashimmer, however I rather quality over quantity
 
Hell, maybe this was not even for “lesbian shippers” this was also for waifufags and enterbots who dont like flash and this relationship for some stupid reasons

Both these things are correct - the tweet that Sunset is bi means that Flashimmer is just as viable as Sunlight yet does not make either canon.
 
I speak of how in general there’s a lot of Flashimmer than usual lately, several with captions that are basically asking for trouble, like this one. And a lot of images concerning both pairings or Sunset’s orientation are full of arguments about it all. Not to say Sunlight shippers are innocent, the “Sunset is bi” thing has been used to declare it canon. But I find the pushback from Flashimmer shippers more frustrating because much of it has been so defensive and “OP is trying to start shit”.

Besides, a bi or lesbian girl can very well be friends with another girl without wanting to get in her pants, can’t she? (and yes, I’m aware that argument can also apply to Flash, despite the fact that he’s her former boyfriend)

People ship Flashimmer, fine, it’s your OTP, have fun with it. But the quantity we’ve seen lately is blatantly just a pushback to the “Sunset is bi” tweet, which just makes it pathetic. The deluge of Flashimmer pics are the artistic equivalent of covering your ears and going “LALALA CANON I CANT HEAR YOU LALALA”.

i think it’s because of the constantly shifting writers. fim has this problem too, setting stuff up and then ignoring it later. one writer sets something up, but leaves and the next writer has no intention of continuing it. bcus it seems like the people at dhx were more than willing to include flash more, but they doesn’t really do any writing.
