I thought the designs weren’t that bad…until I imagined staring at them animated for God knows how many episodes.
I think they look cuter in the background style image found here:
The G4 style celshade works well with them, here it’s not quite as good.
And to be fair, I don’t dislike it. I’m just heavily jarred by the shift.
This isn’t G5, it’s G4.5, I never knew there would be a G4.5 so this just jarred me.

Well.
Certainly a rather jarring change from Friendship is Magic, to say the least.
Not exactly feeling good as hell about this, but I’m excited. I can’t wait to see where this is going. Especially excited to see where this is going to fit in the FiM timeline, if at all. Am hoping for a decent writing, at the very least.
And I thought Luster’s parentage would be the last of this fandom’s dramas!
As for the mini-series based on this line, I’ll give it a chance. I just hope it doesn’t become a bad influence for G5 as they both of these stay as their own things. I want to like both this and G5 after all.
An omen, I’m sure.
At least they replaced “shit” “bullshit” and “ass” from the actual song lyrics.
Also a little ironic that they are using a post-breakup song to advertise a dramatically different new direction.
