You may be jumping the gun a bit. You’ll want to at least ask both of them if they’re fine with Thistle being Lullaby’s new mother.

Duck - "someone befriended them, saved them, coaxed them out of their shell, and showed them that sex is nothing to be afraid of. I’m kind of envious of that rape victim"

loneliness is easy to ignore when you’re alone, but when you are near people who you could be with, it gets so much worse. our brains can’t respond to pain by approaching it closer. your impulse is to try to find what’s hurting you. to hide. to run away.

it’s never been a problem in our evolution, because anybody who had an opportunity to feel lonely would probably die anyway, so better that they be driven away to die alone. but now people don’t have to die who are lonely. they can use technology, and civilization to keep themselves fed and safe from predators. now successful people are lonely, communities systematically sabatoged worldwide to prevent the working man from organizing, people trapped in the rat race all alone, and their loneliness only feeds the terrible machine that’s growing fat off of their helplessness and suffering.

and yet we still have that error in our brains, where loneliness drives us away from others, in an self feeding destructive cycle.

so yeah tempest’s feeling here is a really, really big deal, and I don’t really know what to do about it.
