Back then, yé-yé music had a pretty similar rep (those singers drove teenage girls wild and were viewed as trash by most of those outside of their fanbase, especially among the older generations).

I was pointing out the similarity of their respective “talents”.
Given that Asterix the Gaul was created in the 1960s, Cacofonix is more of a parody of “yé-yé” singers of the era (such as Claude François or Johnny Hallyday) who became popular by performing reprises of rock n’ roll hits.
Especially not the Gaulish Justin Bieber.
Not those who can’t carry a tune in a bucket.
