If you haven’t seen the previous journal entry, allow me to explain. A few days ago, friends of MustachedBain mustachedbain were informed by someone claiming to be Bain’s brother (on Bain’s account) that he had passed away from Fatal Insomnia. Bain does have Insomnia, so his friends were lead to believe he had died.These were the messages that one of them, strawberry-heartrose received about it:I was notified on Monday by her about this and I was both shocked and horrified by what had happened. I had only spoken to Mustached not that long ago (about a week) and he never once mentioned having something like this. At the time, I believed he didn’t tell me about it because he didn’t want me to worry and wanted to spend his last moments doing what he loved which was drawing. Shortly after, I published a journal announcing his death while also planning to post his final two pages on the comic we were doing.It was then that “received” a message from Bain’s so called brother:Until today, I thought that was the end of it. But then this morning I get a message from Bain on Discord, right before I was going to work. He was asking me why everyone was saying he died from Fatal Insomnia. Like I mentioned before, I was shocked and thought this was some sick prank or hacker using my friend’s Discord, but he assured me it was him. He told me he was at an internship this week and left his laptop at home. We don’t know if someone broke in and used it or hacked it remotely. Me and Strawberry got together on Discord with Bain and began asking him questions that only he would know. I also told him to draw something in his style as a test to make sure it was really him.This was what it looked like halfway:To make extra sure, I told him to change the left dragons arms and expression and this was the final result.I was convinced this was him as was Strawberry in her own way due to asking him questions no hacker could possibly ever know. While doing this, I made sure that we kept this quiet at first to make sure it was really him before we announced he was alive. There was also the possibility that somebody would accuse any of us of faking this whole thing as a publicity stunt for more views or sympathy so I wanted to make sure we had all the facts and came out together about the truth to avoid that problem.All of us have said something on our DA’s to let people know that Bain was alive but due to him being in Malaysia (It was midnight there) we decided to wait until now to allow the full story of everything that we know (so far) to be told. So thankfully, Bain is alive and yes we are convinced its him. Bain and I will continue to make more comics in the following week and let things continue as they are. He’s going to look into his hacking situation and he suspects somebody he knows, someone who was causing problems on his DA comments, but we’re not sure. I’m just glad I have my friend alive and well again.You can find his response here
