Lets make MLP universe where Nightmare Celestia wanted eternal day and was banned to the moon so Equestria lived under soft moon light for 1000 years. Then Nightmare Celestia returned and blah-blah-blah. Completelly the same story and “Past Sins” with reborn Nightmare Celestia.
 
The only problem that there would be no sufficient ancient Greek goddes to name the filly after. And black/purple NNM looked stylish and had the beauty of mastery crafted weapon but Celestia would look boring. I think most of ideas of good NMM comes from her visual appearence. And there will be no associations for Celestia that has Luna. So direct inverse would leas only to degraded copy of original.

Yeah, but take that logic and apply it to Nightmare Moon: If we can have New Lunar Republic and Tyrantlestia, why not have “Good Nightmare Moon”?

There’s also Helia, I believe she was the first Celestia-Nyx. Someone was making a story on it where Sunset Shimmer was Twilight and found this “Helia” but I think it stopped updating. There’s a few pictures of it though.

Evil Celestia does pre-date Nyx, we had the New Lunar Republic as a responce to Tyrantlestia. As much as /mlp/ wants to complain that Celestia’s character is evil and morally flawed now, that argument was made back in 2011.

The fandom would’ve hated Daybreaker too. Who here wants to argue that “evil Celestia” stories don’t predate Nyx?

I believe we agreed on the name “Dyx” for that contingency.
