Well, considering Lacunae, it may be possible that the goddess simply ‘dumps’ her attachment to the child in said alicorn and then ‘cuts her off’ as to not be bothered by it.
This leads to the alicorn developing actual feelings, one day getting independent enough to break out.
(Damn, I believe I actually might write that story, now that I get, like, the basic idea formed out.)

idk if you’ve read fallout but i dont think you can leave unity, its basically a hivemind lol. i was thinking she child follows her and the alicorn tolorates it and her and by extension , the goddess become attached and decides to protect the small child, but the goddess is super tsundere about it and justifies it by saying if she raised the colt she could have a loyal servant and vessel for unity.
Kinda wanna make a story of how this alicorn defects from Unity to raise this colt as her child
