The Harry Potter series is still ongoing. Its all prequel movies now… so I guess Disney will buy the franchise, blow up the expanded universe and release new sequels in a decade or so?

Given that this show has survived the 80s and will likely be seen and rehashed like every other marketable franchise for generations, yes I can expect it to last forever, it just might not be the same.
