well, good luck in whatever you do. you seem like a really decent fellow, and I hope you find a way to deal with all that crap! wish I could offer better advice, but… I kind of can’t move either, for similar reasons. no scumbag landlord or deadly winters though.

anyway just do what you can, and don’t ever give them the benefit of the doubt. people who rule us will say what is right, what is true, and what is reality, and they don’t know any of that. they’re just making excuses for taking advantage of the weak and vulnerable. marching in armed car trains down the road, daring protestors to exist.

your english is very good, by the way.

Oh I getcha now. Sorry, I am not naturally English so that term was a little confusing to me. Heck, English is not even my first or second language, more like third. Doing my best though.

And yeah I could fix stuff but honestly, I do not even know how to start without things being official. The Covid disease has been hitting my country like a truck and because of this most people are still stuck indoors. I was thinking about this and I just do not know how to go about things from where I am.

And when it comes to moving, I just lack the money. Cannot even sell the place I am at cause I do not actually own it. I just pay rent. In my country, to actually own a home is honestly kinda a mid class thing. Our landlord has been a massive arse about things ever since the lockdown started. Increased rent and would randomly cut off hot water or gas to save money on us. Cannot even do anything about it cause apparently, it is legal. Speaking of which, moving anywhere would be difficult with the Covid anyway. I am just glad I saved up like crazy from when I had a job, not like most of my coworkers who would just spend away. They are probably in similar situation as me, just worse.

Heck, I keep hearing that a second wave is coming while we are still losing our mind from the first one.

Tell you what, when you are truly starving there is no such thing as “licences.” Classist legislation, I tell you what.
Don’t know what else to tell you besides pray to God that everything gets better. Where do you live that everything you want to do is illegal?

“innawoods” is a joke term among survivalists, for people interested in surviving socioeconomic collapses, but only through rugged brawny personal fortitude, and not through working together communally. (because as we know from survival horror shows, the collapse of civilization immediately transforms everyone into assholes.)

but as beguiled as they are by hyper-individualism, innawoods types are at least attempting to address an important concern, whereas the rest of the western world feel like all they can do is give up and die if something goes wrong. so a lot of their strategies do make some sense.

what I’m saying is fix electronics without a license, for cheap. or something like that. you might get in trouble with the law, but you’re already in trouble with the law just by existing, since the law is forcing you to not get paid and starve on the streets. it might not work, and you might anger the wrong people, but if you keep your head down, and make as many allies as you can helping them, that’s the best thing I can think to do.

also moving is good. siberian winters are for the people with the resources to survive them.

If you mean living in the woods then that is illegal over here, something something licence needed. Not to mention I would have to be armed to deal with wolves and boars which I cannot cause somewhat recently, we lost those. No idea how I would survive Winter like that. They get pretty nasty here even if you are living in a building.

Also, you cannot really start a business as a poor person. Banks will not give you loans without already having a job. No money to buy your starting stuff. Also for anything like fixing electronics or even making face masks, I would need a licence which is both hard to get and very expensive.

can’t sell potted succulents if everyone else is unemployed too. every single person in the world can either only help the people with money, or find some way get by without money. the former strategy won’t work here since they already said they’re not hiring, thus the protest. the latter strategy means the military and police start coming after you, thus the army driving through the protest to make sure everyone knows they’re under threat.

so it’s a tricky problem, with no easy solution, and nobody trying to solve it. I’d say skirting the law with under the table scrip is your best bet in really trashed economies. otherwise yeah, semi-legal businesses avoiding expensive protection rackets that the government sets up. still super risky, but it beats starving.

Not enough jobs for people where I live. Means no money to move where work could possibly be. Been almost a year since my last job, been trying to get anything at this point basically every week.
