Motherfucker, I live in Argentina and know tons of people who lived through the Dirty War, I know what fascism is, some dumb dickhead in 4chan jerking off to a blonde pony and saying “jews lmao” is sure as fuck not fascism.

And yeah, a lot of people living in 1930s Germany thought the Nazis were great because they were removing “undesirables” from society, thus making it a better place… until they became undesirable elements and got taken out themselves, you can’t use “We’re making the world a safer place for the marginalized” as an excuse for a belief that has ruined or hell, ended, countless lives over clashing ideals out of spite.

I can play this game too.

I’ve had three friends end up homeless because these so called “good guys” didn’t like them or what they drew

Without context and without knowing your three friends, I can’t comment one way or another on those situations.

Whether or not your friends experienced homelessness doesn’t strike me as a reason to accept promotions of nazism, though, which is what my issue is about here. I’m not saying I don’t care about your friends, but I don’t see the relation between their circumstances and what I’m saying.

In their bumbling desperation to destroy anything to do with fascism they became fascists themselves.

People who claim “those fighting fascism are the real fascists!” inevitably turn out to have no idea what fascism actually is. Someone has, probably intentionally and dishonestly, tricked you into an overbroad conceptual understanding of fascism in order to dilute the meaning of the word because they want to make actual fascist ideology and politics harder to identify and criticize. They want to term to become meaningless, and to you, it has, because you’ve bought into their rhetoric. In making the term meaningless through its application to groups that are clearly not fascists, they have, ironically, convinced you to do the very same thing you’re crying about - calling people who simply disagree with you “fascists.”

This is nonsense. Fascism has a very clear definition in political theory. Nazis are fascists. People opposed to nazis because they oppose fascist ideologies are not fascists, no matter how much anyone out there tries to disingenuously twist the meanings of words around.

But let’s go back to Marenheit for a second.

I mean… a ton of people in 1930s Nazi Germany thought nazism was great because it did wonders for their economy. It really helped a lot of people.

Unless you were one of the millions of Germans the Nazis didn’t think should be allowed to live anymore.

The same applies here. You can’t hold up “But we helped seven horses!” as a shield for an ideology that we know from history would, given the opportunity, systematically murder millions of people.

Bullshit it stopped there, I’ve had three friends end up homeless because these so called “good guys” didn’t like them or what they drew, so they contacted everyone they knew to get them fired and exiled from everywhere.

The people behind movements like these are insane, they’ll destroy someone’s life over petty reasons, even if they were friends for years, the fact that you can’t see that and your only refutal is “but the nahtzees” does not make it false. You’re defending people who would leave other people homeless during a pandemic in one of the worst cold fronts in history just because they disagreed with them, how the hell can anyone look at that and say “Yes, these are, indubitably, the good guys”? In their bumbling desperation to destroy anything to do with fascism they became fascists themselves.

But let’s go back to Marenheit for a second. All the profits from the pack went to a horse rescue, seven horses were able to be rescued because of the donations, and you can find all about it if you look “verity” on any pony booru, that was the whole intention behind the pack, and Dilarus and his crew wanted to have this all taken down because they disagreed with the method of getting money. Let me repeat that so it’s clear: Dilarus wanted to take down a charity because of his own pettiness.

Explain to me how you can defend that without “but the nazis”, and I may listen to what you have to say.
Background Pony #F367
The thing is, it never stops at just “the nahtzees”.

It literally did stop there. Nazi was, specifically, the thing there was so much contention about.
People trying to muddy the water intentionally injected foal/loli and other unrelated controversies in as wedge issues to make them seem tied to the “but nazis need to have free speech!” debate when they were rightfully just that, unrelated controversies. You and a bunch of other people got bamboozled by them, somehow, someway, through some weird twisted logic they used in that process, into thinking that allowing the pushing of nazi ideology, an ideology which would gladly take away all the precious little frozen peaches from everyone in a heartbeat, is actually supporting “free speech.” And that, to anyone with any common sense not taken in by those kinds of bad faith arguments from disingenuous logic, is just the most incredibly absurd nonsense.

no one wants to leave what is “acceptable” to a bunch of people whose loyalties reside entirely on their emotions

Nazi ideology being unacceptable isn’t a matter of emotion. It’s a matter of the self-evident history showing us the consequences of nazism.

The thing is, it never stops at just “the nahtzees”.

It eventually degrades to everyone who has any trait they dislike, or God help us, someone they disagree with, you’ve seen how cancel culture is, it doesn’t just stop at “The bad guys”, since the definition eventually gets looser and looser, first it was the “Nazis”, then the foal/lolicon artists, then everyone who disagrees with their political opinion, then everyone who disagrees with the way they draw certain things, until it goes down to everyone who isn’t them, in a fucked up, inconsistent version of “With us or against us”, in which all the stuff you previously did or helped with is irrelevant, you stepped out of line, and that’s unacceptable.

It’s not a thing of freedom of speech because I can only achieve an erection if I’m wearing Hugo Boss and stomping a minority’s head in, it’s because no one wants to leave what is “acceptable” to a bunch of people whose loyalties reside entirely on their emotions, and are too egotistical to even consider they may be wrong.

We call everyone that we disagree Nazis

If by ‘everyone that we disagree [with]’, you mean characters that have actual swastikas on them and are actual, literal nazis.

The tired old “You call everyone a nazi!” strawman doesn’t work. First, I’m not calling any_one_ a nazi IRL, I’m noting that a character who is actually a nazi is, in fact, a nazi. That’s just objectively true. It’s not arguable.

Second, it’s absurd on its face to claim that the people expressly opposed to material promoting, softening, normalizing, or “cutifying” nazi imagery and ideology are the real nazis. No amount of mental gymnastics and whining about “but muh freeze peaches!” is going to change this.

“We call everyone that we disagree Nazis, so we’re automatically the good guys”
That’s the real here there, I’d say to open a circus, but you probably having a Twitter would make that redundant.

I agree, Woot and Dilarus’s abuse of the report tools, low public opinion of bronies, and gaggle of Twitter followers to silence all opposition is quite similar to those used in 1940’s Germany, and should not be supported.

I like the message of the picture here, but unfortunately he drew not in the best way, from here there are so many minuses. Sometimes the quality of the drawing is decisive.

@Barhandar

I don’t know what’s going on with this image in particular, aside from it’s probably related to that schism caused by those power hungry mods who started abusing their privilege to shut-down things they personally disapproved of that didn’t break any rules, but preserve things they ‘did’ approve of, and shut down anything challenging that.

As for what you said there… I’ve always been of the mind, ‘take back’ things we enjoy from the people abusing them and giving them a bad name. Take back died hair, take back clothing styles, take back ‘words’. We shouldn’t ‘allow’ people to create a global stigma for something just because ‘they’ are stupid with it.
