I got to say: Its second episode (released a few weeks ago) redeemed the series in my eyes, but it still feels kind of subpar.

This time, I feel actual enjoyment out of what I have seen, and there seems to actually be a more meaningful amount of the titular world explored.

Eh. The first one was not that good. The new video, The Three Kingdoms, had some actual charm to it.

…This is Guardians of Pondonia? I thought she was just some random OC someone made. Just by looking at all its screencaps I see from here, it’s really not living up to its title.

I think it’s less to do with being starved and more to do with feeling validated.
 
The guy in question probably isn’t a brony, and claims he wasn’t expecting to get as much reception on the video as he did. He’s a classic animator near the top of the food chain in an art career (just not the upper crust with character design). And he chose to spend time and energy creating this video.

I know they do it to political videos all the time. This is the first time I’ve seen it happen on a non political video.

Must be a glitch, or something. It didn’t happen with me.

Video keeps losing views should be at 25K by now. But I’ve refreshed it a couple times and it’s lost 300-400 views, and 900 once.

Still could be, but that doesn’t mean it didn’t take him to just now to come up with this concept.
 
I think at the very least, there’s some strong evidence to the parody attempt that he didn’t intend to be this popular. The crown on the villain’s head bears striking resemblance to Queen Chrysalis’ (and I’m thinking about making a comic about that), a few of the sounds and effects, and of course the body design, are primarily from G4 MLP and their fan vids.
 
Heck, add green to the hair and a long horn to Athena and you’ve got Princess Celestia.
 
That it’s completely and 100% accidental and coincidence that we’re recognizing his material as MLP OC character work I think stretches it too much. While he might’ve not actually intended to base his creation on G4 to gain brony viewer support, we can’t deny the similarities and inspiration used.

That’s quite a late response to the brony community if you ask me. And were those his true intentions behind the creation of that video?

I’ll be honest, I’ve actually heard of Shawn Keller before this animation. Vaguely that is. One of my favorite Youtube Poopers back in the day used Shawn’s older animations as a source.
