I originally had comic dialogue to go with this, but I felt it was ruining the impact and all the possibilities that could be going on in this scene and decided to leave it up to the viewer’s imagination.

Unless we go with the old comics, in which a dead Unicorn’s body/magic, a toxic swamp, flies, and an accident by Starswirl were involved, Chrysalis and the Changelings’ origin are not known. Nothing says she wasn’t a pony before, and even the comic’s origin doesn’t leave that possibility out entirely.

Interesting idea. I personally would also like to see the dialogue version posted, if you haven’t deleted it.
@Lawrence Gordon
Not officially (since they don’t officially coexist) but there’s enough resemblance there that it wouldn’t be hard to convince a layperson that they were.

I’d like to imagine that those’re the little cinnamon heart candies that usually come out around Valentine’s.
“So… you managed to conquer your world because your enemy did a sloppy job tying you up and is busy dating a human guy from another dimension who can also turn into a werewolf? Are you sure there isn’t too much tequila in your margarita?”
Changelings are the Dittos of Equestria.
When you learn that humans are the dittos of the fantasy world.

And what constitutes as enough fantasy ad per your standard?

“So, sister, how goes your plot on the Three Kingdoms?”
“Everything I dislike is on fire, and Athena seems to have vanished, but she’ll be hopelessly outmatched if she returns! You?”
“I captured the Mane 6 and all of the princesses in my hive, replacing them with my Changeling copies.”
“If only she were here, mom would be proud.”
Lots of fiction has interspecies crossbreeding. Even barring that, one (or both) could be adopted.
You haven’t see enough fantasy if you’re asking that question.
How could members of two different species be sisters?

I’m just saying :)
