Because meat is AWESOME!
I think you’re talking about In Time from 2011. I watched it once, in high school, classmates play it for fun. I can’t remember much of it but Cillian Murphy looks pretty cool in it.
…and now I’m thinking of that one movie where people’s lifespans were literally monetized, as in people had to decide whether any potential purchase was worth shortening their own lifespan for. (I didn’t see it, just a trailer for it, so I don’t know anything else about it other than it was allegedly another one of those poorly received sociopolitical allegories where the metaphors tend to fall apart under even mild scrutiny, like Downsized.)
Edited
“I’ve heard ponies say that time is money. Therefore, I just took some time, flipped it around, and donated the resulting monies.”
Technically, he doesn’t have to be a law abiding citizen to be a good friend, never mind that he has likely been around longer than Equestria itself anyway. For that matter, if I had infinite cosmic power, I wouldn’t want to be limited to a teeny tiny living space either.
So in a way it’s just dirty money. He’s just making money out of nowhere and doesn’t do anything to earn it.
Now that I look at it, his donation doesn’t show a number. Either it’s so large the stream cannot compute or he faked his donation.
…no, it really isn’t. Discord can warp reality to the point he could pull anything out of any orifice of his body, which is actually reflected in the impossible value of his donation (or, you know, maybe he’s just hacking the system).
