But then space is a factor into your decision on this if I’m not mistaken.
Maybe make the body a little plumper. Neck a little longer and head wider/taller, about a little longer.
Add a little bit of curvature on the main body (imagine the shape of a giant jelly bean) with the rear a bit bigger and rounder.

Unless of course, you want to make the pony overall larger. Longer in body length.
The head would makes perfect inner tube decor.
