Thanks Ciaran, my concerns aren’t about Derpi, derpi is a great site and one of my favs- it’s just a a general internet issue. Pretty much all cartoon fandoms have it too. Derpi has a great filtering system but other sites don’t and that sucks

We really can’t help on other sites, and we did forbid Google from indexing us for quite a while but … robots be robots. And there’s nothing about this image that is anything other than safe. By definition, if Hasbro publishes it and it is rated G then it is “Safe”. So, beyond that, this topic really isn’t apropos this image other than that some people get horny when they see plot and want to debate how much or how little these crotches are featureless and if someone goes above the rating of the image in their comments we will Rule #7 it.
 
So - if you see “Questionable” or “Explicit” comments on “Safe” rated images please do report them for Rule #7, and if you see NSFW images rated as “Safe” please do report them for Rule #2 and fix the appropriate tags. That will help us keep this site safe for all audiences on the default filtering settings a lot.
 
If you would like to discuss this more, especially if you believe there is something we could do to make this site safer for kids, please create a thread in the Site & Policy forum - it is something we do try to get right.

I’m not against MlP nsfw content (there’s plenty of it i like even) but it’s tricky because kids will search up stuff on Google and Pinterest etc and it can and does show up even with filtering on sites like this. I’ve seen a dozen Twitter threads of ppl saying accidentally coming across that sorta content scarred them to some extent as kids. There’s kids in this fandom that inhabit the same spaces adults do and that’s important to remembe I guess? I’m not sure what can be done really,the filtering system on derpi is great but it doesn’t exist on other sites- very long comment I just feel strongly abt this

On this site, users have to ASK to see “not safe” images, so we do aim to make sure that this site is safe for all audiences - even if the user is anonymous like random users who accidentally stumble on the site.
 
Personally, when I’m not volunteering for the site I have everything above suggestive filtered, because I find the site more enjoyable without seeing the NSFW stuff. If you haven’t tried it, please do. If you need help setting up a custom filter please feel free to PM me.

I really hope though that with this new gen nsfw stuff is at least slightly more kept out of sight, I was a kid watching FIM and it was almost impossible to avoid Pinkie Pie porn as a 10 year old trying to find drawing references of a cartoon horse. We’re a fandom for a kid’s show and we need to keep lewd shit out of kid’s spaces.
