I guess there are better fan games/mods out there anyway. Like for example PhoenixFlambe is trying to make a continuation of Welcome to Ponyville. So I don’t really mind.

It was a rather small game, all things considered. There is only so long that we can talk about it. As for mods, there was one that showed collision boxes for speedrunning practice purposes.

The real uncanniness is realizing no one cares about this game anymore and that mods were just a fleeting dream.

after having played the game in question I’m hopping for the modders to add more content.

mod texures yes (and i did texture mods on a “movie” called Before the Storm that you can find on my yutube channel)

Boxed PC games are a rarity nowadays. Many people don’t even get an optical drive, and if they have one, it’s a DVD, not BD. And while this particular game could fit on a single DVD, many modern titles would require you to juggle a handful of them, even when they are all dual-layer.

I’m hoping we see a mod soon for PC that adds in G4 ponies as playable characters.

It seems a little too good to be true.

As much fun as this thread’s been, I have serious doubts that modding will be natively supported. It would be very foolish of the game devs and publishers to allow free manipulation of a children’s game when they know our community exists and should be very aware of our love of rule 34. That’s not to say at some point the community won’t find a way to blow the game wide open and make extensive modding a reality, but it’s not guaranteed. I wouldn’t expect much more that texture swaps and maybe some model replacements eventually.

I don’t know, I haven’t followed the Pokemon modding community since Red and Blue. But generally speaking, you should be suspicious of claims that anything is easy to mod.

It’s not? I saw some claim that Pokémon Brilliant Diamond will be easier to mod then previous Pokémon games because it was made in Unity. Of course they could be wrong…

Sure, but being a familiar engine doesn’t mean what it used to mean. Titanfall 2 uses the Source engine (albeit heavily modified) but you don’t exactly see anyone modding the MLP SFM models into Titanfall 2 or, god help them, Apex Legends.

Perhaps not, but it’s still a fairly popular engine that some people definitely had had some experience with. If it was a bespoke engine, it would be a mystery at this point.
