That scene is quite possibly the biggest representation (even if not intentional) of this fetish in the media. Obviously it’s going to be referenced often. Though honestly I can’t remember seeing more than around ten comments referencing it, though that might be just me.
So, no. It’s not on everyone’s mind but when it is they have the need to point it out for whatever reason. And even when they do I’m sure it’s not the only thing they think of. Just because they say it doesn’t mean your message didn’t get across.
Just look at facehuggers. Almost anything that latches onto your face is apparently a facehugger nowadays while I’m sure the artists don’t always mean it that way.

Why is this the only thing that ever gets said on drone pictures? It really discourages me and probably others from making drone artwork, since we know that this is the only thing that ever comes to commenters’ minds instead of the actual intent of the image.
