You know the majority of the brony fandom won’t do that, right?
And honestly I don’t think they need to, considering G5 is literally a continuation of G4 and as such there will be a lot of ties to that generation. The comic (if you have seen that) already shows the ties between the two generations, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we see some connections in the upcoming series, as well.

I will gladly write that kind of story, if you would like. Personally, I would love to see more of that kind of dichotomy myself, and I think I could find a way to make it work in a short story (I am not all that good at writing multi-chapter novels, so it would likely be more of a one-off).
