Wasn’t the flag of Sri Lanka the inspiration for the Gallus pose? I thought it looked more majestic if a gryphon held the sword like that.
It inspired the flag of Arantar, which later developed into the flag of the Sarmelonid Empire.
Arantar is a fictional country of mad scientists that I made up.
The Sarmelonid Empire was Arantar’s distant ancestor, a spacefaring human empire that fell to decadence and alien invasion.

Neat! I also read that China holds ~10% of Sri Lanka’s debt, and therefore was 100% responsible for their debt crisis!
