I thought they did a great job with this. Sprout has always been slightly clumsy. He runs into doors, or doors slam back in his face. They didn’t change that.
Old Sprout was an absolute insecure basket case who didn’t feel in charge of his own life. Still living in mommy’s shadow. I bet she pulled some strings to get him that deputy job in the first place. He can’t escape her. He shrinks very time he hears her voice. He needs a hug so badly.
New Sprout is possibly doing community service. But he still dreams of feeling powerful, and now he has magic. What happened in this episode really could not have gone any other way. And he still needs a hug.

@Malarkey thank you :) I hope he will appear again in MYM, I heard he is only in one episode of MYM Chapter 2 and I will watch only this episode. He should be part of mane characters

They made him clumsy instead of funny from what I saw. He didn’t say or do anything funny because it was dumb. There were no “oh no, I appear to be trapped” moments like he had in the movie. I’d say at this point, his personality is about as butchered as Izzy who is now very loud and annoying.
