But, that’s not solid canon until it’s said so in the show, and she made it so explain why the mane 6 are independent in the tween years, so you can still headcanon what you like, as long as you always remember…

How about we spend less time arguing over supposed ages and stuff (which has been going on since the show started) and focus on admiring the adorable pregnant Fluttershy in the pic?

You know what bugs me? When people try to apply logic to marketing. FiM has adult ponies. Equestria Girls has High School students. Two different markets with two different approaches that just happen to use the same franchise. Don’t try to add logic to the mix because it will never fucking work. Just accept it and carry on, there are better things to devote your time to.

Seriously? Nobody is considering what EQG is implying about adult ponies?
 
What it implies is that full grown adult ponies in Equestria are between 13 and 19 years old and they grow up earlier than humans.
 
That being said, this is NOT my headcanon, but it would be a BIG piece of evidence to an argument about ponies’ lifespans and maturation that has been debated since G4 debuted.
 
 
And now, for the other side: NO. The ponies in Equestria are NOT the same age as their human counter parts. At least, not all of them.
 
If the ages of all the ponies and their human counterparts were the same, human Celestia and Luna would either be long dead or look something like this:

Since the EQG world is supposed to be somewhat realistic (i.e. NO REAL MAGIC AND NO IMMORTALITY) we can deduce that Humanlestia and Humna are not so old that their birthday cakes can be seen from space.

It just baffles me that everyone is so keen on trying to say they are teenagers now that EQG happened. It was a magic mirror, they never once used the word Human (And if they did I missed it) for all we know it could have thrown Twilight into a world where she was a old lady. So it is very possible the mirror can alter someone’s age.

Everyone was a teenager, including Photo Finish….Huh, I got the inclination she was older. (Maybe late twenties, early thirties or something.)
 
Honestly, I think the human versions were younger, but that doesn’t put the main six too old. (I guess their ages go from 17-22. Along those years.)

I remember Lauren Faust clearly saying to use our imagination on what ages they are. They own businesses and allot of them live on their own. They ARE NOT FUCKING TEENAGERS!
