speaking of tumblr, there were a lot of good ones that just stopped for some reason. like “ask young braeburn”, which had an adorable art style (and younger apple family members), and “ask flutterstalker”, which was interesting for being a dark fluttershy blog. some of them have interesting storylines or characters, but my favorites always seem to be short-lived or finished shortly after i find them.

Blame Tumblr, or Dumblr for that. They made us into some sort of scapegoat, blaming everything that goes wrong in the world on us.  
But lets not talk about that, not here.

honestly there’s not much difference. they both have art, both have literature, both have conventions, and both are centered around anthropomorphic characters. the only real difference is that the brony fandom is more centralized to one show (and whatever crossovers they do with that show) while the furry fandom isn’t as centralized and does what it pleases. though, right now, while furries have the more positive media representation - a new video was just released on a reporter going to anthrocon and enjoying herself and being friendly but a bit snarky - bronies tend to be the more open fandom. preconceived notions, stereotypes, and bad publicity from the wrong sources are a problem here, though.

I wish that was more than a one-off, as it is indeed the closest we’ve gotten so far, as far as I know. I mean there’s an officially licensed RD balloon, but that’s nowhere near an actual vinyl show-accurate inflate heh.

HAHA. The impressive thing is that we’re, what, not even five years old yet? The furry fandom has been around for a very long time and frankly it seems we’re not TOO far from matching their numbers and presence. I know a lot of people say there’s not much difference between the two (I’m not in the furry fandom so I can’t say) but I guess there’s at least some crossover somewhere, even if there are TONS of differences. =p
 
I have inside sources on custom inflates, only thing I need would be the commitment of enough people to make it affordable and the cooperation of one of the middlemen that goes between the concept artist, the makers (generally in China), and the interested party XD Then again my own funds are kinda low after Bronycon so it’s more of a future dream than an immediate plan. Meh.

I believe that may be one of the areas that define us. Trust me, I’m in and was in many other fandoms. I know that feeling when stuff gets un-replied too often, that was why I was never really involved in fandom activities until joining this one.

FA is a big site. Big communities have amplified problems and problem individuals. But also due to the lack of central interests that ties our fandom together, Furries tend to be quite loosely affiliated with each other. Not everyone has all the time to reply to every single comment made towards them, they are humans IRL after all.
 
Commission or not, I still think some people like this guy are awesome. And yes, I did come across certain things that ticks me off on FA and this site (NSFW) And some creepy, weird, and WTF stuff (All NSFW). But these are just problem individuals who make themselves prominent, and that is how the public unfortunately judge them. I mean, I have buddies on this site who are Furries too. Even though I assert, that I am not one myself. they are quite understanding.

based on an fa profile i’ve seen of it, it was commissioned by a brony. but i follow neither of them, so it’s a little difficult to find again.

it’s not that they’re unpleasant. whenever i’ve gotten into a conversation, they’ve been nice and welcoming. but i’ve probably met hundreds among the time i’ve been to conventions and participating in groups online and maybe four have reached out to actually talk. and sometimes i’ve entered conversations and gone ignored for long periods of time like i’m not there. so while they say they’re friendly, not too many of them actually extend that. it probably doesn’t help that offline i’m shy, but you’d think a fandom that keeps getting the positive reviews as it has would follow it through once in a while.
 
it’s gotten to the point i consider it worse than the fact that my fa inbox is getting swamped with more “adult” artwork from originally clean artists almost every week.

I’m glad you’ve made such a nice remark towards this fandom, we really need it considering the amount of shit many haters mostly from places like YouTube and Tumblr spread about us lately.

Many great work in our fandom are also made by Furries and former Furries too, people like Bluntwhiskey, Atryl, Kloudmutt, ss2sonic, and Siden.  
And this artist who made this fabulous picture looks like a rather cool guy.

I’ve heard from many Furries that their fandoms are just as accepting as our fandom. As with any fandoms, it all depends on which individuals or groups you hang out with.

i don’t want to turn this into a “fandom war”, but bronies so far are the superior ones. the art is better, the fanfiction is better and more diverse than furry literature, and the communities tend to be nicer and overall more accepting than furries are, despite many claims to the contrary; i’ve been snubbed and ignored on furry sights and someone generally talks to me on brony fandom-related sites||, especially when i’m under my actual username||.

There were inflatable Guilemons, for crying out loud. And these third party custom makers - such as IW - have also made copies of Intex Whales, I’m sure those are copyrighted too.
 
After browsing through Inflatemall, I’ve noticed the distinct lack of good Equine toys in general. It seems everyone is too obsessed with canines, cetaceans, and dragons.
 
But check this one-of toy out. If only they mass produced them.

I know, right?? There have been a couple of brief discussions on various pony forums, but nothing serious. I’d have expected actual completed projects by now, even copyrights notwithstanding (that said, one guy had a run of Balto inflates made recently) There ARE a few people considering a project on a certain inflates forum, but I don’t know if it will ever take off OR there are enough members there to jump onboard to make it a realistically affordable endeavour. I just hope it happens someday, and when it does, that I get in on said project XD

I’ve been wondering. Despite the popularity of this series and the amount of great animation, art, music, remixes, and other artisan creations this fandom has made. Why hasn’t anyone jumped on to creating Pony inflatables yet?  
Yet, Furries have managed to make inflates of their obscure Fursonas.

Yeah, especially customs. Quite the bank-breakers. It’s kind of a dream of mine to one day have inflates of FiM characters, buuuuut unless a ton of people got in on the project so that the cost per item would be lowered to a reasonable level, it would be ridiculously expensive. XD Having just one made in a production run would tend to run at least $1-2k.
