Its not a matter of QUALITY, but rather QUANTITY. I dont want to see him saving the fucking world every 4 seasons with only 5 minutes on screen, i want to see him more times on screen.

I’ll admit that it is a bit weird they spent time trying to cushion the reasoning of why he isn’t going on an adventure rather than, you know, writing the adventure to include him.
 
To be fair, he’s had a huge save-the-world moment already. An entire empire practically worships him. But I do see what you’re saying.

He’s busy doing hoofball-related things with Big Mac. It’s nice that the writers have him spending time with another dude, and it’s also nice that Fluttershy expresses an interest in staying in Ponyville with Spike until the realizes it will be a sports-dominated day… But none of these things change the fact that he’s, yet again, missing out on another quest that involves “all” six ponies; it shows that he still contributes nothing critical to the team and has no place on their missions.
