Trilby Pony

I wouldn’t count Trixie as a counterpart, to be quite honest. She doesn’t really share many of Twilight’s character traits.
That said, given the fanon of her being greatly powerful, I would like to see someone bring them all together and having to work together.

Simple: Trixie is Cars. Sunset and Starlight are mortals like, say, Yoshikage and Pucci. Now, she’s slightly different. :3

I think Sunset’s premise was fantastic (if a little cliche). But there was ultimately no reason to reform her because she was so 2-dimensional. They should’ve fleshed her out as a villain instead of taking her in a completely different direction.

I mean, what’s the point of introducing an evil Twilight clone if you’re not going to develop her beyond the debut? It’s like Starlight was made to admit that “Yes, we wasted Sunset. Have a character who’s pretty much evil TWilight DONE RIGHT this time.”

I’m fine with it, but mostly because Sunset Shimmer wasn’t interesting to me as a villain and became interesting as a pariah with a guilty conscience and self-esteem issues. I’d rather she not go back to being a two-dimensional bitch.

I cannot for the life of me understand why so many fans love reforming villains.

I hated that they reformed Sunset (Rainbow Rocks be damned) and pretty much wasted her character by forcing her into a different direction, then they had to come up with yet another counterpart. It’s getting tiring.

But… Trixie was never meant to be a Twilight Sparkle counterpart. She was a counter~~point to Twilight ~~ being a braggart without much to back her up as opposed to Twilight’s legit knowledge and (over-)power.

Sunset I’ll give you. She is Twilight’s direct counterpart (to the point of having almost the exact opposite colour scheme). And she was indeed reformed - in the process becoming one of the best characters in the series.
