No, c’mon, for realsies! When the truth is revealed, she worries that if she regains her memories of her childhood, she won’t be herself anymore. She thinks that if she blocked out the incident that took those memories, maybe she should trust her own brain’s judgment that it’s more than she could handle. They try to tell her that if she does regain her memories she might also be able to speak again, since when she was a little filly named Twilight Song, she could talk just fine. Even that doesn’t tempt her too much, since needing to use music to express herself turned into a pretty awesome career. She is who she is, but she’s happy to have two families that love her and she’ll always make time for both.
 
Naturally, she’s soon afterward forced to remember because only what she’d seen can defeat the enemy once it returns. She also gains access to her full power, and after she speaks for the first time in fifteen years to give a Doctor Who-type you-done-goofed-so-basically-run speech (briefly interrupted by a Twilight-ishly adorkable moment when she’s like “ooh, this is what I sound like now?”) before she uses her magic, now as ridiculously overpowered as her siblings, to singlehoofedly whomp some Tirek-class nasty with a blast of sonic doom. Then she cries, a lot.
