And if she did own Gilda’s character, they couldn’t reuse her. Just changing her beak wouldn’t be enough, you’d have to change the name and make it as different as possible all around. You couldn’t sell a show about a mouse called Mickey with the same design, voice, and personality just because you changed the shape of the ears, for instance. Disney would still send your ass a cease and desist and take your ass to court if you persist.
That’s not how it works. You don’t automatically own something just because you create it necessarily. If you pitch a show to a company, generally if they pick it up they but the rights and you agree to sell them your rights to it. If you’re under a contract and create something for the show, they automatically own it. Lauren Faust doesn’t own jack to the show, most likely.

Lauren Faust has no rights to anything mlp related. That’s not how it works. Hasbro owns it.
