Well technically Twilight is the princess of friendship, so whatever she’s involved with so should her friends mostly. Together they form Equestria’s ultimate weapon.  
Cadance is the princess of love so I’d say it’s allowed for her to use her husband as weaponry. At least that would be interesting to see as answer to Twilight’s defense mechanism.
