Rate my OC?

She is brash, tactless, and loyal. But when her friends are bullied, she acts immediately by using sass and her wits.
 
Lightning Flicker is a pegasus mare and was born in Las Pegasus. As a filly, Lightning had a sister who she loved dearly, thinking of her as her best friend. One day, Lightning loses her sister in an accident. In memory of her sister, she carries around a ribbon that belonged to her sister. Due to this situation, Lightning never allows herself to get close to any other pony; which is why she pushes them away by being a bully.
 
Lightning and her family move to Ponyville to get out of the city, thinking it’s a bad influence on lightning. After weeks in Ponyville, Lightning has shown every other pony who she is; a bully. Lightning spots Candy Star walking through Ponyville with a pink scarf and begins making fun of her for it. Starshine realizes the ribbon lightning carries around with her in her hair at all times is a sensitive subject that she doesn’t want to be known. Star shine makes fun of it and even takes it from her, not knowing what it means to lightning.
 
Lightning gets upset over Starshine messing with it and every other pony starts mocking her for it. Later, Candy Star finds Lightning crying as she holds the item in her hoof. Candy Star approaches Lightning, trying to learn what’s wrong, but Lightning tries to distance herself. Eventually, Candy Star gets Lightning to open up to her and Starshine, Which they learn of the significance of the item. They soon become friends and eventually best friends. Once they become best friends, lightning stops carrying the item with her; representing that she is finally able to let go of the past and look forward to the future with her new best friends.

While I do like the resolution to her character development here, I have to question how she can be both tactless and yet be able to make use of her “sass and wits” at the same time. She could be a decent OC, but I think she needs more thought put into her. Think about other characters and how they interact with her, beyond simply seeing her as a bully.

I’m not saying she’s both tactless and brash and uses her sass and wit at the same time, I’m saying she can be tactless and brash in other instances, but against bullies, she knows how to humiliate them, cause she was one at one point.

I have an OC who I want brutal honest criticism on, even if it’s “what trash can did that nasty thing come from?”

Kind of looks like the viking version of a Final Fantasy character, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but a couple bits that stand out to me are his front-left hoof and his mismatched eyes. I feel giving his bare leg a boot in the same style as the ones on his back legs would help to balance out the design and make him look a little less generic. As for the eyes, does he need to have them different colours? Is there some significance or purpose behind them being different, which couldn’t be brought across in a more interesting way?

I agree with the boots, but that was to show his hoof color and how it looked like apart from others.
 
Also the eyes do serve a purpose, but I didn’t want to give his entire back story in one post or it kinda would have been too overwhelming, like a “TL;DR” type of situation.

Ah, ok. In that case I would still recommend having it covered, but only enough so that the blue mark still pokes out of the boot, unless it’s something he would prefer to keep hidden. I like the concept of the gauntlet by the way. Not much else I can say about him without more information - what is he like as a person, what has he been through already?

Íroas carries his own desires as he actually wishes to try and mold the next generation with how his should have been, though the twist though is that he wants to do this not for himself, but for someone he knew that always felt the world wasn’t quite right, that it missed out on telling the rest of it’s story.
