I know, I wish the old copyright would be still in use. Back then a movie must renew their copy right after 30 years, and then a second time. So after 90 years it would be PD. Meaning a lot of classics, and forgotten films would now be flooded into the public domain and could be used by everyone. Just imaging how creative YouTubers could use those old movies. And how many of them you could stream legally everywhere.

Heck I can’t wait until Wings (1927) gets into the public domain in 4 years. And other classics which are way overdue.
That is if Disney doesn’t intervene again, because they want to save their copy rights on Steamboat Willy …
