I believe Chevy sells the Cruze with a diesel, but since Volkswagen got raped by environmentalists the golf no longer has a diesel option.

I’m an environmentalist and I love diesels. I fucking hate people who roll coal and ruin the reputation on diesel, and I fucking hate Volkswagen for doing that shit too. (And well I hate the common environmentalist for still believing that nuclear power is not a solution).
 
I also hate manufactures for still preferring EGR and DPF aftertreatment VS SCR and DOC.
 
Well I hate a lot of things, but I hate them with love.
 
Today Diesel ain’t worse for the environment than gasoline, most of the additional gases are compensated by the fuel efficiency which leads to lower overall carbon emissions.  
And well particulate matter although only a thing in old or poorly tuned cars, should concern anyone who doesn’t want lung cancer (which is a thing when you have lived all your life inside a smog-filled valley).

Yeah, I hate coal rollers. like, what’s the point? “Oh look I made my vehicle run worse.” because the ECU tune makes it drink more fuel, driving fuel economy down, and the particulate filter delete makes soot build up quicker. Fucking childish idiots.

What is this fixation with replacing all physical controls with touchscreens? It’s expensive, over-complicated, unnecessary, unsafe rubbish. I want real goddamn knobs and buttons which have worked perfectly well for nigh on a century.

Thank you for going off about touchscreens. I hate them too, I like physical buttons that do one operation. It helps with muscle memory. I don’t want to press five buttons with terrible response just to get to the fucking heated seats.
 
I also hate the “muh minimalism” approach to concept cars. Minimalism was done best in the 60s, like the Chevy 2.

Ah, yes, that Infiniti concept. It shows Infiniti has no idea what they’re doing if their best idea for a concept is a minimalist autonomous transportation pod.
 
Does anybody actually care about Infiniti? I see them as basically a dead brand.

I love diesels too! Really gotta get myself one soon. DPF is a pain in the ass, and they’re pretty expensive and need to be cleaned/remanufactured too

I’m sure one could get 24 - 30 MPG in an 89 Caprice Wagon (2 tons) if they stuck a 6.2 or 6.5 Diesel in it with the right gearing and an Overdrive Transmission.

That’s America for you, partly because of G.M. messing up badly in the Diesel market with passenger cars in the late 1970s. Add in that you still have people putting gasoline in diesel engines here and there you go. Don’t be surprised, 1/3rd of America is obese and I scratch my head trying to understand why (I know it’s Sugar, I guess many people can handle it much more than I can) but that’s another issue.
 
With that said, I remember that Volkswagen made a few Diesel models in the 90s with Manual Transmissions.

And Diesels can run on waste veggie oil if they’re modified.

I don’t see anything useful in rolling coal, myself. Maybe it can work as somewhat of a smokescreen in a warzone but I don’t think it’s very effective.

The overall design reminds me of hotels I’ve seen in movies; it also reminds me of late 40s - early 50s cars just a little, particularly Nash models.
 

We are to expect a full top speed run of this land speed record car Bloodhound by half a quarter of 2020 or 2021.
 
The anticipated top speed will be 1000+ MPH.
 

 
And it’ll be driven by Andy Green, the same guy who did a land speed record back on 1997 with ThrustSSC.

I honestly don’t mind touch screen buttons or standard buttons really. I’m really not too picky about that.

I’m not saying it’s bad or anything like that. The general appearance feels nice, IMHO. Dunno what to say about the lack of an apparent steering wheel though.
