I want to vote for Bernie, but I would still vote Hillary over anyone running on the right-wing ballot, even if I’m fully under the impression that Hillary would be a bad president. She’d probably just suck the least, I think.

None of the candidates look good to me. I agree with Trump on several things, but hate him for others.
 
I guess it doesn’t matter… as long as it isn’t Hillary or Bernie.

I agree with Bernie on almost everything except his very high tax rates. What’s the point of striving for the American Dream if you have to give almost all if it to the government?

That’s how socialism works. Everybody actually has to contribute to society. You probably would lose more money on a yearly basis under the current system than Bernie’s somewhat bastardized socialism, anyway, seeing how necessary institutions like fuckin’ hospitals are ridiculously expensive under capitalism.
 
The American Dream has always been a load of shit, anyway, unless said dream is getting so fat that you can’t even fit through the door by turning sideways.

True, with real socialism everyone benefits, but Congress will take advantage of it and use that money to fund other things which are not in the interest of the people. What’s more, it’s my money, I earned it and now I have to give it to the government so they can choose how to spend it. I have dreams of actually having money someday. I want to own a nice house and a nice car and a boat. If I pay 50-60% to the government that’s not happening.

So they can use it to fund social institutions like they’re already doing with public schools, police stations, and fire stations. These are all things you used to have to pay for under capitalism, but yet are operating better than before under socialism - so where that whole spiel about congress taking advantage of that comes from is beyond me, because socialism already exists to a degree here. Just being paranoid, I guess.
 
My favorite is the fire station, though, because when it was operated under capitalism you had to buy the fire permit and if you didn’t buy it then they let your house burn and anybody trapped inside was stuck there. Ich liebe Kapitalismus :V
 
You get nickle and dimed to hell under capitalism, so your ideas of making money aren’t really going to go as smoothly as you seem to be thinking and might even work better under socialism. Socialism is like buying a full game at full price. Capitalism is like buying a game at 3/4 of the price and then getting spammed with tons DLC and microtransaction
 
Socialism is a lot more honest. It takes what it needs from you and leaves you be. Capitalism is deceit because it gives you the impression that it’s letting you keep your money before ripping basically all of it away from you - more than socialism could ever dream of doing.

Under socialism you are forced to pay for something, even if you don’t want or need it. Also since you are forced to buy it there is practically no limit on how high the costs can be. Will costs go through the roof? No. But it sure won’t stop Congress from raising them. I agree that some things need funding like roads, fire stations, schools, etc. But don’t think that Congress won’t use that money for other things. Sure they can initially state the budget of where all the money goes but the doesn’t mean they can’t change it later on. It’s scary thinking what would happen if the government suddenly had a huge increase in funding and was basically in complete control of your paycheck. It’s an extreme example but I think of what happened in Soviet Russia…

This isn’t Fucks News. This is reality. Communism is not Socialism and extreme examples have no value. Fear mongering has no place here.
 
Annnnnyway, I’m just going to rest my case here, because I have nothing I can offer you. I would like to continue this discussion but I just don’t have any kind of response to somebody who’s argument is basically assuming the worst in everything.
 
‘Tis why I feel Bernie’s approach to his campaign is so vital to his success, though, because it shows honesty. No caked on make up, no accent changing based on location, and near absolute transparency. I can offer my trust to somebody who displays this kind of honesty in a field where fakeness is everything as well as has a long and successful career in politics as is.
 
So yeah, all I can really do is rest my case here. Sounds more like a you thing than a me thing.

If you read what I said earlier, you’d see that I said I agree with Bernie on just about everything. I like that he is honest and transparent but I still don’t like the high taxes. This isn’t just a “me” thing, this is an “everyone” thing. When the government is in control of your paycheck like that only bad things can happen. I agree we need taxes but not to that extent.
 
As far as the fear mongering thing, I just said it was an extreme example, but nonetheless something like that could happen if things really got out of hand, which I doubt they will but even so I’d rather not have things steer in that direction.

Bernie Sanders all the way. I like his ideas and he seems to know what’s up. Also, he’s very critical of the Walton family, and wants them to pay more. I agree with that, and I hope he does something about it.

Wasn’t arguing Bernie on my end, I was treating it as Socialism vs. Capitalism.
 
Also, bringing up the very worst case scenario that has a next-to-impossible chance of happening as an example is the definition of fear mongering

Fear-mongering is implying that it’s going to happen. I never said that, in fact, I said I doubt things would get that bad. But still I am against thins country turning too socialist. I am actually for things like universal health care, free or low cost college for everyone, and unemployment benefits, but a line must be drawn somewhere.

We would just have to cut down on the frivelous things that colleges offer these days and the price of attending would drop significantly. It would be a more than affordable social institution then - and keep in mind that public universities are already helped out significantly by their states.

This is why we don’t make it to where practically everybody can get into college like we are now. The value of a degree might actually increase if we do this, it would provide more incentive for students to pursue success in pre-college education, and the amount of stupid kids who attend college, rack up massive debt, and then fail out would basically be wiped to none.
 
There is no losing here, but as usual, the right is being shortsighted and failing to see the big picture.

I think at this point I really can only say who I’m not going to vote for, and that would be that bloated, moronic, egotistical, fear-mongering, hate-mongering, cancerous polyp on the distended anus of humanity Donald Trump.

Bernie doesn’t seem so bad, I guess. I don’t much care for Hilary overall, but if it came down to a choice between her and Donald I’d vote for her in a second. Republican side, I suppose it depends on who gets through the primaries out of all the people running. I almost would like to see Jeb make it through, just because it’s been a while since I had to consider a Bush vs Clinton campaign.

I dunno, honestly. As much as I love your description of Trump, the really petty side of me wouldn’t be so upset if he wins, because I know it’ll destroy every bit of traction the right wing has in American politics. He will kill this country and it’d be nobody’s fault but our own. This is why the rest of the right-wing, the ones that aren’t total dipshits, try to distance themselves from him. They know he will be the death of their political standing.
 
And I would be the same, honestly - I don’t want Hillary to win, but at the same time if it’s her versus Trump, it’s going to be an easy vote for her.

Not murican, but Bernie seems like the only real choice out of the corrupt/jackasses that i’ve seen so far.
 
It’s funny; i’m a million times more interested in the US politics, than of my own country’s. I mean, so much drama!

What I don’t get is how way too many Americans seem to think that they only have two choices at the ballot. I mean, I know that FPTP voting systems suck ass, but you do realise you have more than two choices right? I’m pretty sure that the Libertarians, Greens, and the Constitution Party folks will have candidate eligible for the top job.

My envious, Antiamerican side somewhat is entranced by what will happen if Trump wins. Celestia knows we have too many parasites like him here. Then i have to supress this side, because supporting a Honorius when the world needs a Majorian is a fool’s move. i should concentrate in trying to better my own side than putting others down.
