When Yugoslav leader Tito Broz cut ties with the Soviet Union, Stalin went several assassins to kill him. All were discovered and executed. After the assassins were executed, Broz sent a letter to Stalin which roughly said, “I know that you sent several assassins to kill me. If you attempt to send any more, I will one of my own assassins to Moscow, and I won’t need to send another.”
Stalin did not send any more assassins after Broz.
