Some acronyms can have more then one meaning dude, I know of three meaning and two of them could fit.
One is “netorare”(what you where talking of) and the other is “need to rush”(having to get a plot back on track in a limited amount of time).
And funny you should say anime, that is where “need to rush” meaning can fit as well.

Well it wasn’t solved from how so far it’s been about other things, things on Mewni.
We only saw Earth once to check in on Marco and his parent before he goes to Mewni himself.
And there was no talk of thing there ether.

Honestly, I hope that people seeing the symbols on the mother’s cheeks as butterflies is simply because of the angle or quality of the portrait and they are actually clubs. I liked how they had the deck of cards idea going on with the symbols.
