As for phobias, I’ve always had a fear of any sort of insect that can sting/bite and fly. Sometimes, it gets to the point where if I’m alone outside, and I see something that I think might be capable of stinging/biting, I immediately retreat back indoors.
I also have a pretty big fear/hatred of ticks in general. What’s weird is that I never really had a fear of them as a child. In fact, since my family used to go hiking a lot back then, I used to get the occasional tick on me, and never was bothered by it. I just pulled it off and moved on. Now, ever since I learned of all the different diseases that certain ticks can carry, I’ve tried my best to avoid areas that could have them, including hiking trails.
Oh, and I guess this isn’t necessarily a phobia, but just something I find creepy. Brown Recluses. I’m not all that bothered by other spiders, and some of them can be kind of cute. Brown Recluses on the other hand? You turn the lights on to a room and see one on the wall, freezing briefly, before slowly creeping along. Fuck that.
