@Scrabbleman
is legit good omg I don’t get why anyone would dislike it. been reading / watching reviews and I guess…I guess some fans are far more sophisticated and has some very fine-tuned taste, one that I haven’t yet reached. For example episode 2 and…here’s the beauty of it: there isn’t very much to spoil atm and I can easily write this commentary without a spoiler tag. Here goes:
The two episodes are structured
very much centered around our Mandalorian with No Name, and maybe it’s even structured to
mimic the way our masked protagonist views the world around him. The guy cares about one thing: His job, and similarly the episodes make
very little effort, or none at all to give the viewers any information outside of his immediate need and immediate objective. There is almost no scene that isn’t his scene. It’s as if the story unravels exclusively from his perspective. There is also, quite a lot of silence. With a nameless faceless protagonist who emotes very little, and characters who only does anything
in response to our MC, it’s very interesting for me. I like stories like this.
A lot of fans are crying like: “Omg where is he?! what planet is this?! Hey that is that race native to X planet, is he on that planet that was important in the movie?! who’s
the baby? SO MANY QUESHONS” and I personally am like: “is that what is in the MC’s mind atm? if not, then you probably won’t get an explanation about it.” The show right now makes more effort giving him personality and emotion (and emotional attachment to some things) much more than giving you LORE and politics.
It feels like slice of life, and I’m loving the crap out of it. Moar plees.
