Unpopular opinion time (super alpha no pony edition)

Perception is key to truly express what I mean, but I don’t think you’ll truly understand it.
 
Negativity will always exist and there’s nothing you can do about that. But that doesn’t mean love doesn’t exist.
 
Hate and love are two sides of the same coin. They’re not separate. They can’t be. You can’t have one without the other, the same way you can’t have heads without tails. The two are opposite but also the same.
 
Too much hate and it’s horrible. Too much love and it’s a nightmare. It’s all about finding that fine line and balancing it out. It’s precarious and difficult but it’s what makes it worth it.
 
Hate and love aren’t counters to one another. They aren’t pure opposites because they share a lot of similar qualities. Both exist with each other and can never exist without one another.

You hold onto your ideals tightly, believing them to be the truth. But because of that, you filter yourself from the unknown. You hide from ideas that cannot justify your own. I hate it when PC Culture tries to control the words we say, for example, you can’t say the word “rape,” it’s a straight forward honest word, now you have people on the PC Culture trying to make use “Soft Language”.

Tumblr isn’t nearly as bad as everyone says it is, and it’s super easy to ignore the toxic parts entirely.

Now that Juice WRLD is dead (R.I.P.), time to weight in on my two cents: I thought that critics were a bit too harsh on his big hit Lucid Dreams from last year. It’s supposed to sound sophomoric and hastily written, he was 19 when he recorded that and was clearly going for a young adult, moody vibe which I think people missed the point of. I thought it was a great song with a good structure, nice lyrics though I’ll admit that there are a few parts that sounds dumb, and I didn’t mind the Sting sample throughout.

People calling things “toxic” is stupid and overrated.

I agree. I actually really liked the remake, but it feels more like CoD than Goldeneye

Speaking of Bond Games, how good is Quantum of Solace and Bloodstone? I heard those were good games, but I remember not being too impressed with QoS(though I never got very far)

Remember Miles Davis Black Sabbath and King Crimson were all despised by critics in their time too because Fusion Jazz Metal and Prog Rock weren’t a thing back then

Critics obsess with musical “Canons” so when a brand new sound comes along that they don’t know how to apply it to the “canon” they are following they just dismiss it
 
Basically, they obsess with shit that has nothing to do with the music itself and should be ignored a lot of times

Critics are also notorious for sticking close to trends and shitting on anything outside of it. It’s like in the Mid 90s when Britpop began becoming popular, and any artist coming from Britain making shoegaze or grunge music was met with derision.
 
An album should be allowed to stand on its own merits, and critics who need to weigh it against the works of the artist’s peers, or the rest of the artist’s discography, generally lose my respect pretty quickly.

Yesterday when being with my sister IRL, I told him that I don’t like the uses the x’s for inclusive language because I’m kind of a soft grammanazi, and my sis said I shouldn’t use the word nazi, even though I was just trying to say I’m a bit exigent with grammar.

Trying to censor something only makes people more interested in it, and may lead to people not knowing the problems with it due to not being told what caused it to be consider bad. Imagine people decided that Nazis are bad because no one was willing to talk about them.

NME’s deep hatred of Shoegaze during the Britpop boom seems disgusting in hindsight, they were insulting every single thing about the Musicians from that scene and making up shit about them , slowdive in particular
 
Meanwhile American critics were in love with the Smashing Pumpkins who mixed Shoegaze in his sound so go figure
