Sweet F.A.

I lived and still live in a mountain near Crozet, VA. For one thing, we’re a poor family, so we can’t afford cable TV. But even if we could afford it, we live so far out that there would be no way to get the cable to our house. We can’t afford satellite TV, either. All I had growing up was NBC, ABC, CBS, PBS, Fox, and the CW eventually. (Basically the broadcast networks.) At least now we’ve also been able to get Comet, MyTV, and a few of the other PBS stations.
As for streaming, due to our proximity from the city, a company called Wild Blue holds a monopoly on this area and only offers 25 gigabytes of upload/download data per month, making our internet go slower if we go over that limit. This makes streaming virtually impossible.
