@Mr grump

Everyone has a higher life expectancy than a tempestest scion.

Unless they happen to be near a magic God man on a giant walking chair with a magnificent beard.

See, in the end you learned more about me and changed your initial opinion based on the present facts.

Maybe next time, try not to assume that you know so much about me. You may notice that I, very intentionally, hide aspects of my personality and beliefs. You all, barring one person here, know very little about the inner workings of my mind.

I don’t want to sound like a Jedi or some shit, but I intentional pushed the conversation this way. To this conclusion, as a teaching moment.

People are complex, even your foes. Remember this.
My generalizations of you were to make you aware of how antagonistic those can sound. How paralyzing it can feel to have someone claim to know what your life is.

I am a rational, emotional, complex being. Just like you.

Treat me as such.

I apologize. I just wish things were like back in the 90’s. When politics and bullshit didn’t clutter my everyday life. Maybe I should just forget about politics, except when it deals with my rights of course.

Learn to let go a bit.

The more you try to control the things that are beyond your grasp, the more you will lose sight of those things that you can.

I’m reminded of a tale.

Two men were competing in a race. They had a month to train. One man fretted over every detail. What if it rained? What if it were hot? He packed every essential, planned for every contingency.

On the day of the race, the man lost soundly to his friend.

How? The man asked. He had prepared everything, made sure every detail was in place.

To which his friend replied. "But did you spend any of that month running?"

In his paranoia, the man had thought to do everything about all the things he couldn’t control. What he had forgotten to do, was train.

Do not lose sight of that which is important.

That takes…a lot. I’m not sure you’re willing to pay that price.

Here’s an exercise: think of a job, or an activity, and honestly ask yourself if you think those are beneath you. Rinse and repeat. That’s how you figure out how much you think you’re worth.

If you’re totes serious about what you said, then give your life. Literally give your life for a cause, for something other than you. Heck, even for a stupid dream.

Once you have made up your mind to sacrifice your own pride and life for something you really believe will help the world, you will stop feeling worthless.

At that point you stop caring if you’re qualified or capable, you just do something, anything to make the world better, irrespective of the result.

But you don’t want that, I don’t think. Nobody wants to give their own lives away for free. Because deep down they know they’re worth something.

…look, you in college, you know math, programming, you speak english, german, you got some cash (not a lot), you still function as a human being, and you young. If you willing to go hard to not be worthless, there are a shit ton of ppl willing to take your skills if you’re willing to give them out for free.

G’dammit man!

Just like that.

Half of my weekend is already over.
Long weekends feel like it went by in just one day.

Society is really overworking themselves for fuck all reasons… because of long work hours, tight schedules and the ever increasingly hectic globalized world we live in. We literally cannot spend any time doing anything else.
Remember those days when the world ain’t as hurried?

There’s too many people on this planet. Too much demand.
We cannot go on like this. Something drastic needs to be done.
Society needs a reset…

This!

Start being a rebel and dont give a hoot, then. Unplug, get off the grid, do something you really, really want.
Why live in society if you find it so bothersome? It’s not like you owe them nothin and its not like you got family to feed, which would rely on you winning bread and thus deal with society. If you got nothing tying you to society you got no raison to be with it.

Something drastic needs to be done? I just tol’ you one way. Be a rebel. Ever thought of just quit school quit job and do whatever you want?

Some ppl in third world do this: they work only enough hours to get enough money to go drink and enjoy the sunset. If they happen to have enough cash for a month’s worth of drinks they don’t work for a month. Dats it. They dont work for the sake of it. They work so they can maintain their hobby. At least those ppl got their priorities straight.

Mario Maker 2 requiring paid online just to play Course World and upload your own levels (which is like 90% of the game) is a massive turn-off. You’re already paying full price for the game and Nintendo expects you to pay even more.
