They fed me, gave me a place to sleep, I got a HS diploma for getting GED with honors.
 
Also got my OSHA, weatherization and forklift cert.
 
Roomed with 2 others, we had to keep everything tidy and beds made.
 
It was 80% under privilaged black people, lots of cool people
 
Psuedo religious, not enough to bother me.
 
If it wasn’t for them I wouldn’t have much of an education. I didn’t go to Highschool. Dad formulated this “I’m being homeschooled” thing so I could be his slave. I signed up for Jobcorp behind his back.

Apparently Amazon is employing outright brainwashing to combat Unionizing.

You know, on the one hand, I’m very much pro-worker, having worked a job since I was 15, only ever spending a combined year unemployed across that entire time. I’m also the son of a former union boss.
 
 
That being said, I’m going into probably the most corporate of corporate jobs. Where I will likely be spending a considerable time.

I couldn’t find a relevant forum thread to post this so I’m posting it here just this once and then leaving.
 
I read in the news today about a whole bunch of evidence the local PD and ICE have found that a man and his wife in my area have been paying for children from South of the border and then taking them here and raping them. I don’t know whether or not they are both currently in custody or not while they await trial, but there are 3 others who live in the house and it seems highly unlikely they weren’t privy to the fact that this girl was being raped and locked up in a room with nothing but a metal bed and a bucket for waste.
 
The address was published, so regardless of whether or not the couple is home I’m shooting fireworks at their house, throwing stink bombs, and leaving a note that if any of them ever assault or assist in the sexual assault of a child ever again, I will burn their whole house down next time.

Good, no cancer or masses.
 
I’m still left with a mystery, but at least I’m not dying.

It’s nice that you love these characters so much, but conflict and drama, injuries and betrayals - these are all parts of story telling.
 
Rainbow Dash broke a wing. Remember that? She healed.
 
What it meant to her as she went through that was the story.
 
It was a good story.
 
I haven’t seen this story, but Applejack getting a broken foot is a part of the story and I’m sure it was used to motivate something, even if it was just a joke.

I hope it didn’t take you this long to realize that; it only took me until middle school. Still, even then, I believe to some degree it applies to almost everyone in a situation where you don’t know the individual physically, or to a degree that emulates it.
