Make your choice, folks. For me I’d either get the Xbox Scarlet or an upcoming future Switch model.

WE, PC MASTER RACE DON’T NEED THOSE PUNY UNDERPOWERED MACHINE!!!

Joking aside, I honestly not much a hardcore gamer like I used to be. While I still play game once in the while, drawing vectors, music production and sometimes video editing is what I usually do. I don’t really need, high end GPU, probably something like GeForce 1050TI or GeForce 1060TI is enough for me. Maybe I would need something if I plan to start to doing 3D graphic.

While I don’t need powerful GPU, I certainly need powerful CPU and plenty of ram especially using sample based VST instrument and VST effect. Kontakt is VST that I used the most and it’s really ram hungry and CPU intense. I can easily eat up my 12 GB of ram and fuck my i7 5500u to the limit. Thought, it reward you with the most accurate and realistic sample based that you would ever get.

So yeah, while not quite high end in GPU, but I certainly need both plenty or ram and high end CPU desktop/laptop

If I were to someday get a new high-end PC or Macintosh, I’d pick pick either an ASUS, DELL or Origin PC that has Windows 10 Home with a possible dual boot with Gentoo, Red Hat, or Debian OS. Either way at least 6-8 GB of RAM and AMD over Nvidia.

I’d say the next Xbox. I already have a beefy computer, so I don’t need to build a new one. Plus I’ve been with Xbox since the 360. I just wish they’d integrate the Xbox live aspect with pc.

If you asked me before last year I would have said PC, no hesitation. Up until then, I had been a near-exclusive PC gamer for about a decade. After I picked up a Switch last year, my perspective has changed. I can’t remember the last time I launched a game on my PC.

There’s no denying that objectively, the PC comes out on top in just about every conceivable way. Better specs that can be upgraded, better performance, a bigger library with more exclusives, the longer shelf life of the games, mice are more accurate than joysticks in games where that matters; the advantages go on and on.

However, the Switch’s convenience, in my opinion/experience, makes up for its comparatively underpowered performance. It may not be the kind of trade-off everyone is willing to make but it’s one I don’t mind. Until someone makes a portable gaming PC case with a screen on the side that I can also use with my monitor with no fuss, I’m fine being a filthy console peasant.
